As the Burning Bush blazed with the glory of God, Moses heard the thundering voice,
“ ‘Do not come closer … Remove the sandals from your feet, for the place where you are standing is holy ground… I am the God of your father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob’ ” (Exodus 3:5–6).
He is “the God of Daniel … the living God, and he endures forever” (Daniel 6:26).
He is “the Lord, the God of David” (2 Kings 20:5, ESV).
He “is the Lord God of Elijah” (2 Kings 2:14).
He is “the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego” (Daniel 3:29).
“He is called the God of the whole earth” (Isaiah 54:5).
So?
He may be the God of your father and mother, but is He your God?
That may be what God was hinting at with Moses. “Hey, Moses. I’m the God of your dad and mom, Amram and Jochebed… they trusted me and followed me. I’m also Abraham’s God. I’m Isaac and Jacob’s God, but am I your God? Will you trust me and follow me?”
God wanted a vibrant and living relationship with the runaway murderer… and He wants that for you too! He’s God, but is He your God?
“… think on these things” (Philippians 4:8, KJV).
